I feel this has to be a bug with Nikon or NEF or something. The darktable team has announced its second summer feature release, bringing darktable to version 3.6. **SO** I have your problem (but under windows, normal v 3.4.1.1 ) and defaults to 11 enables modules. go "up" (1, 2, etc.) until you find the issue. Click on the first ((bottom)) level of "0 original." - If it's OK, at least visible, you know that the problem lies somewhere in your pipeline with modules. In the darkroom view, go to the "history" panel. Check image as "original" before modules applied.
